We’re extremely excited to be working with an ambitious nursery provider, seeking a qualified, successful, Deputy Nursery Manager. Set within the beautiful surrounding of Stoke and ideally situated to benefit from ease of access from both public and private transport links.

The ideal Deputy Nursery manager will provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the children and all staff. Full consideration will be taken from all applicants offering management experience, whether currently in a role:

  • Deputy Nursery managers
  • 3rd In charge
  • Nursery managers
  • Senior Practitioners

The ideal Nursery manager will work alongside the owner to provide a vibrant, ethical workplace.

The nursery works within 7:30 and 6pm Monday to Friday.

Your Role

The successful candidate will manage the nursery to Ofsted standards. Ensuring the provision of high quality service, providing children with a wide variety of learning experiences and a safe, secure and caring environment in which they can grow and develop. They will have worked as either Nursery Manager or Deputy with a proven track record of excellent customer service and the ability to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery, delivering the highest standards of care and education within a clearly defined revenue and cost base, preferably within a private day nursery setting. The Nursery Manger must be able to demonstrate an outstanding working knowledge of the standards required by Ofsted as well as being able to role model best practice.

A resilient leader who can effectively demonstrate the ability to work under pressure.A self-motivated individual with the ability to take initiative and responsibility and respectful of the views of children.

Qualifications/Skills

Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent in childcare, learning and education is essential.

An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)Knowledge of child protection procedures

The ability to meet all children’s needs to ensure every child makes good progress

Knowledge of OFSTED standards and experience of inspections

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

Knowledge of Safeguarding legislation

Good communication skills both written and verbal

Strong people management skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team
